The damage you see here was caused by untreated scratches to the body of the vehicle that was caused during the prior removal process. This rust/damage will require additional clean up, prep and prime, the cost of which most insurance companies do not cover and classify as “wear and tear” to your vehicle.

This vehicle came in with a severe leak. Upon removal of the windshield this is what we found. This extreme rust on the pinch-weld is due to improper prep & prime on previous installation(s). Damage this bad requires that a body shop perform repairs before a windshield can be installed. This also requires a tow as the customer cannot drive the vehicle.

Here you see total adhesive failure along entire top of windshield compounded with untreated scratches to the body of the vehicle that was caused during the prior replacement. A windshield cannot be installed without the correct prep & prime work necessary for this job. This rust/damage will require additional clean up, prep and prime, the cost of which most insurance companies do not cover and classify as “wear and tear” to your vehicle.

The pinch-weld has rust holes which, again, requires a body shop to correct the damaged area BEFORE a windshield can be re-installed in this vehicle. This also requires a tow as the customer cannot drive the vehicle. |
